Taylor Bloxham prints limited edition cancer charity book - Memories
December 2011

Writers and artists gathered in London on 1 December to celebrate the arrival of Memories, the unique book of 12 stories and 144 individual’s artworks in aid of Maggie’s cancer centres. Memories is a beautifully conceived, crafted and printed book with over 175 inspirational pages combining touching storytelling and original illustrations from 144 different artists around the world, each inspired to uniquely interpret one of the 12 tales of living and positively dealing with cancer.
The limited edition Memories book, (there are only 700 copies available to buy), was launched with Stuart Boyd from the Memories project handing over a cheque for £1,000 to Maggie’s cancer centres from pre-sales of the book even before its official public announcement. Taylor Bloxham sponsored Memories and were responsible for the print production and binding of this beautiful art book. The proceeds of sales of the book, which will initially go on sale as a limited first edition, will go to the charity.
Speaking about the Memories project, and Taylor Bloxham’s involvement, Taylor Bloxham Sales Director Graham Farrell said, “Cancer is something that affects one in three of us at some time in our lives. We at Taylor Bloxham have always embraced projects such as Memories and when Garrick Webster first approached us a few months back, his explanation of the project and enthusiasm for it meant it was an easy decision to get involved with Memories.”
The launch party gave guests the opportunity to see the Memories book for the first time. In an interesting move, the creative team decided to price the book at only £10, and because of the Taylor Bloxham’s sponsorship all proceeds are being donated to Maggie’s cancer centres.
Memories editor Garrick Webster explained: “We wanted this book to do two things. Firstly to generate awareness of the positive side of cancer diagnosis, and the daily work of the good people at every Maggie’s centre; which is all about supporting people with affirmative relationships. Secondly we wanted the Memories book to be accessible to anyone, from brassic students to CEO’s, carers and fundraisers. The £10 cover price is a small sum to pay for such a huge amount of creativity but we hope that Memories will become a catalyst for further contributions to Maggie’s. We are hugely indebted to the writers, artists, printers and suppliers for giving their time, resources and creatively so freely. The book is a lasting testament to their commitment and with only 700 copies available there will be very few owners around the world able to enjoy it!”
